The 150-200 word justification is the graded artefact, and it has to argue the topic passes the selection guidelines and is supportable by empirical research — which means checking the literature before you write the question, not after.

The assignment tells you the question will evolve, which is permission to choose a workable one rather than an ambitious one. The test of workability is simple: does searching it return intervention research?

Empirical is a technical term with a checklist attached, and most rejected submissions fail on the same point: a systematic review is peer-reviewed and scholarly and is not an empirical study.

Research utilisation is the term that carries the question: it is applying findings from a study, while EBP is a decision process combining evidence with expertise and preference — and collapsing them loses the point.

Assist others to generate their own is a teaching problem, not a doing problem — and the obligation half asks what you owe nurses as well as patients, which are different debts.

The title is the giveaway. The proposed solutions section has to describe the validity and reliability of the research behind them — this is an appraisal exercise wearing a case report's clothes.

Write a four-page APA paper defining evidence-based practice in special education, stating the criteria that qualify a practice as evidence-based, naming a resource for locating EBP strategies and describing what it offers, and explaining how you will use EBP in your own practice.

Define a health problem drawn from your own practice, analyse literature and professional evidence that guides nursing action on it, propose strategies to improve outcomes, and reflect on the state board practice standards that apply, citing at least five sources under five years old.
